1. Scope and operator
This policy applies to the ImageMemento browser extension for Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge. ImageMemento is published by EinstineWrites, an independent software studio operated by Saad Zahid in Pakistan. Privacy questions can be sent to privacy@einstinewrites.com.
2. Image content processed
When you choose an ImageMemento context-menu command, the extension identifies the image you selected and may inspect its displayed source, responsive candidates, or a directly linked original. It then saves that source or converts it to JPG, PNG, or WebP inside your browser.
The selected image may contain personal or sensitive visual information. ImageMemento does not identify people, extract attributes, build a profile, retain the image after the requested operation, or transmit the image to EinstineWrites or a conversion service.
3. Information stored locally
ImageMemento stores format-quality preferences, the JPG transparency background, the save-location preference, and records needed to show which image hosts you have granted. These settings remain in browser extension storage and are not sent to EinstineWrites.
4. Browser permissions and optional host access
- Context menus: provides ImageMemento commands when you right-click an image.
- Active tab and scripting: identifies the image selected on the current page after your command.
- Downloads: saves the chosen file through the browser's download system.
- Storage: keeps product preferences and granted-host records locally.
- Optional HTTP or HTTPS host access: requested only when conversion requires fetching the selected image from a host the extension cannot already read. You may deny the request or revoke a host later.
ImageMemento has no required permission to read and change data on every website. It does not scan pages in the background.
5. Collection, sharing, and sale
ImageMemento does not collect or sell user data, does not share selected images or settings with third parties, and does not use data for advertising, analytics, credit decisions, or purposes unrelated to saving the selected image. The extension has no analytics, advertising, tracking SDK, affiliate injection, remote code, or artificial intelligence.
6. Retention and your controls
The selected image exists in memory only as needed to perform the requested save or conversion. ImageMemento does not create a publisher-controlled copy. Settings remain until you change them, choose Delete all settings, clear extension storage, or uninstall the extension according to browser behaviour.
You can review and revoke previously granted image hosts in ImageMemento Settings. Delete all settings also restores defaults and revokes listed host access.
7. Websites and protected content
Websites and image hosts may receive ordinary network information when your browser retrieves an image, just as they do for normal browsing. Their practices are governed by their own policies. ImageMemento does not bypass authentication, paywalls, hotlink protection, digital-rights controls, or other access restrictions.
8. Children
ImageMemento is a general-audience utility and is not directed to children under 13. EinstineWrites does not knowingly collect children's information through the extension because selected images and settings are not transmitted to the publisher.
9. Changes and contact
Material changes to ImageMemento's data practices will be described here and, where required, in browser-store disclosures before the changed version is released. Contact privacy@einstinewrites.com.
